However, their consistency was not enough to prevent another disappointing setback against Kano Pillars, who secured a commanding 2-0 victory in a rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 14 fixture at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Thursday, Footballrover reports.

Kano Pillars dominate despite Gabriel and Ihemekwele’s efforts

Kano Pillars took control from the onset and rightfully earned their victory. Despite Enyimba’s promising start, Usman Abdallah’s men found the breakthrough in the 26th minute when Abba Adam struck the opener.

Meanwhile, the Sai Masu Gida climbed to seventh, boosting their hopes for a strong finish this season.

Enyimba will now look to regroup and bounce back as they aim to stay in contention for a top spot after their last outing against Egyptian side Zamalek ended their CAF Confederation Cup hopes.
