Enugu Rangers, the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, have pulled off a major summer transfer by signing 19-year-old wonderkid, Clinton Degol Jephta, from Niger Tornadoes.

The youngster’s impressive performances last season caught the attention of the NPFL Champs, Footballrover reports.
The pacy forward, a revelation in the 2023 NPFL season, joins the Coal City outfit on a one-year deal, adding pace and firepower to their title-defending squad.
Jephta’s remarkable debut campaign for the Ikon Allah Boys sparked interest around the league.
After a prolific spell with Nigeria National League (NNL) side FC One Rocket, he landed a free transfer to Niger Tornadoes, where he wasted no time in registering his name on the scoresheet.
The youngster bagged an impressive 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 appearances, displaying his versatility across the frontline—comfortable playing as a left winger, right winger, or even a central striker.
Rangers confirmed the deal on their social media page, saying,
“Former Niger Tornadoes Attacking winger, Japhet Degol sign one-year contract with us. Welcome, Degol.”
This move to the Enugu Rangers presents Jephta with a golden opportunity.
Not only will he be competing for domestic glory with the reigning champions, but he’ll also have the chance to grace the biggest stage in African club football—the CAF Champions League.
The Flying Antelopes are preparing for a continental clash against US Zilimadjou of Comoros, and Jephta could find himself thrust into the limelight just a year after his NPFL debut.
It’s a big move, if you ask me, and Jephta obviously has all the ingredients to become a big star at the Cathedral.
