Nigerian sensation Elijah Odebe wasted no time in setting the Moldova Super League alight, firing a stunning brace to steer FC Sheriff to a commanding 5-1 victory over CF Sparta Selemet.

With this win, FC Sheriff have stamped their authority as early table toppers, Footballrover reports.
Super sub Elijah Odebe shines for FC Sheriff
While Odebe stole the spotlight, his compatriot Ganiu Olaniyan also found the net for the visitors, but it only proved to be a consolation goal.
The 18-year-old super sub came off the bench at halftime and wasted no chances.

In front of an excited crowd at the Malaya Sportivnaya Arena, Odebe struck twice within five minutes, sealing a second straight Moldova Super League win for FC Sheriff.
Before Odebe’s brilliance, Amarildo Gjoni opened the floodgates in the 3rd minute. Cyrille Bayala doubled the lead in the 19th, and Gjoni struck again before halftime, giving Sheriff a solid 3-0 advantage.
Sheriff’s Super League title ambitions on track
Odebe then took centre stage in the second half, netting his brace in quick succession to extend Sheriff’s lead to an unassailable five goals.

He fired his first goal in the 68th minute and calmly slotted home another in the 73rd.
While Ganiu Olaniyan pulled one back for Sparta Selemet in the 80th, it was a mere footnote in a match utterly dominated by Sheriff.
With nine goals in two matches, including their 4-0 opening win against Politehnica UTM, Sheriff look determined to dominate the Moldova League this season — and Odebe is quickly proving he’s one to watch.
