E-World FC have done it! The Calabar club sealed their long-awaited NNL promotion with a thrilling comeback win over Ahudiyannem FC in the final match of the NLO playoffs.

Fans at Sharks Stadium on Tuesday afternoon watched as E-World turned the game around to secure their spot in the Nigeria National League, Footballrover reports.

E-World Fight Back for NNL Promotion

The table-topping team stepped into this clash full of confidence.

They had already shown their strength by beating Campos FC 3-1 in their first game and overpowering FC One Rocket 3-1 in their second.

The Cross River boys were clear favourites for the promotion, and they proved why.

Meanwhile, Ahudiyannem FC, from Abia State, came in fighting for pride. They were yet to taste victory, having drawn 1-1 with FC One Rocket and lost 2-0 to Campos FC.

The NLO Promotion Playoff — Southern Zone kicked off with both sides hungry for goals.

However, it was Ahudiyannem FC who struck first when Ezeibekwe Kingsley opened the scoring after 29 minutes.

But E-World FC were not ready to surrender their NNL promotion dream.

Late Goal Seals E-World FC’s Stunning Comeback

Just six minutes later, fortune swung E-World’s way as Kingsley turned from hero to unlucky villain — an own goal handed the Calabar side a lifeline, levelling the game 1-1 at half-time.

The second period of the game was tense and full of action.

The winning moment came in the 78th minute when Okon Etim fired in the decisive goal to seal E-World’s dramatic 2-1 victory and confirm their promotion to the Nigeria National League.

And out of excitement, the club owner and E-World Group Limited CEO, Engr. Etim Okon, rewarded the team’s effort with a one million naira cash prize for their impressive performance.

In the other Southern Zone clash, FC One Rocket suffered a tough 4-2 defeat to Campos FC at Yakubu Gawon Stadium Elekahia.

E-World FC will now join seven other teams who earned NNL promotion this season:

Northern Teams:

Kano Ambassadors – Kano State
Warinje FC – Bauchi State
City FC – Abuja (FCT)
Mai Kunkele – Niger State

Southern Teams:

E-World United FC – Calabar
Stormers SC – Ogun State
Hammola FC – Osun State
Ikorodu City FA – Lagos State
