The victory has no doubt dealt a big blow to Tottenham Hotspurs top four ambition in the 2022/2023 English Premier League.

Tottenham are now 5th on the log with 30 points after 16 matches, two points behind Manchester United, who are now 4th on the log with 32 points after 16 League matches.

The Unai Emery side now occupy 12th position on the League Table with 18 points after 16 matches.

The Lions’s first goal in 50th minutes of the second half of the match was the fall out of a big error by Tottenham Hotspur Goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris.

The long-range shot from Luis Douglas eluded the Frenchman. The ball was misplaced by Ollie Watkins on the initial touch, but he swiftly recovered to pass to Emiliano Buendia, who finished expertly to score Aston Villa’s opening goal.

Aston Villa’s second goal of the game was scored in the 73rd minute of the second half when John McGinn chipped a beautiful through ball to Luis Douglas in the box.
