Bendel Insurance midfielder, Divine Nwachukwu, has expressed his joy after being selected for the national team, Super Eagles, in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Sierra Leone.
Super Eagles’ Head Coach, José Peseiro, has called up Divine Nwachukwu, along with three other home-based players and 19 foreign-based players, for the crucial AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone.
The match is scheduled to take place on June 18.
Joining Nwachukwu from the home-based players are goalkeepers Victor Sochima of Rivers United, Olorunleke Ojo of Enyimba International, and Rivers United defender Ebube Duru.
These players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and contribute to the Super Eagles’ success on the international stage.
Nwachukwu, who has been in outstanding form as a box-to-box midfielder during the NPFL Super Six, is being hailed as the “Man of the moment.”

The list of invited players for the AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone includes notable names such as William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Kevin Akpoguma, Joseph Ayodele-Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, and Ahmed Musa, among others.
The Super Eagles’ upcoming match against the Leone Stars holds immense significance, as it could determine their path to the AFCON tournament.
