Burkina Faso struck first through Mohamed Konate in the dying moments of the first half’s extra time, Footballrover reports.

The North African side, unfazed, equalised in the 51st minute with Bounedjah’s first goal.

Their West African counterparts, however, regained the lead in the 71st minute courtesy of Bertrand Traore, who had replaced Konate earlier.

Just when Burkina Faso seemed poised for victory, Bounedjah stepped up again, bagging his second goal in the final five minutes of extra time to earn Algeria a vital point.

With this result, Burkina Faso remains atop Group D with four points from two matches.

Algeria follows closely behind with two points, while Angola and Mauritania occupy the third and fourth spots with one and zero points, respectively.

The match was incredibly exciting, with both sides displaying remarkable attacking ability and defensive tenacity.

Algeria needs more balanced attacking plans, as shown by their reliance on Bounedjah’s heroics, and Burkina Faso’s late collapse could teach them a vital lesson about finishing games.

With the group stage still wide open, every point holds immense value. The remaining matches promise even more drama and excitement as the battle for the knockout stages heats up.
