Danny Welbeck hit a landmark moment in his football career by netting his 100th goal in all competitions, and he did it in style against none other than his former club, Manchester United.
The milestone came during the Premier League match against his former club, Manchester United, where Welbeck found the back of the net to put his team ahead, Footballrover reports.
Welbeck’s milestone goal came during a thrilling match where he once again proved to be a thorn in the side of the Red Devils.
Interestingly, Manchester United is the team Welbeck has scored the second most goals against in his career, with only West Ham United seeing more of his strikes.
Brighton’s star forward played a crucial role in his team’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United, keeping their flawless Premier League record intact this season.
Welbeck opened the scoring in the first half, calmly converting a delightful pass inside the box at the 32-minute mark, slotting it past the keeper with a touch of class.
However, the drama was far from over.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Amad Diallo dazzled with some quickfooted magic, weaving through defenders before his shot took a deflection and found its way past a helpless Jason Steele, levelling the score at 1-1.
There was a tense VAR review for a potential offside in the buildup as referee Craig Pawson took his time.
Eventually, relief washed over the United players as the goal was confirmed.
Just when Manchester United thought they had turned the tide, Alejandro Garnacho set up Joshua Zirkzee for what seemed like a go-ahead goal, only for it to be chalked off due to offside.
With the clock ticking down and United hoping to escape with a point, Joao Pedro had other ideas.
In the fifth minute of stoppage time, he burst into the box and met a pinpoint cross from Simon Adingra, finishing with aplomb to snatch the win for Brighton and send the home fans into excitement.

This loss added another chapter to Manchester United’s recent struggles with late-game heartbreakers.
Since the 2022–23 season, they’ve lost more Premier League matches due to goals scored in the 90th minute or stoppage time (six) than any other team—a stark contrast to their previous three decades of dominance.
