Super Eagles forward – Cyriel Dessers is overjoyed after scoring his first international goal for Nigeria in a friendly match against Mexico on Sunday morning.
Cyriel Dessers, who equalized with a powerful header in the second half after the Eagles went down a goal due to defensive lapses, says he’s proud of the headed goal.
During the international friendly at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, the UEFA Europa Conference League top scorer continued his incredible form by scoring the Super Eagles’ first and only goal.
The Super Eagles were defeated 2-1 in a close contest. Just 12 minutes into the game, Santiago Gimenez put Mexico ahead.
Mexico won the encounter thanks to an own-goal by William Troost-Ekong in the 56th minute, just two minutes after Cyriel Dessers had equalized for the Eagles.
“Mexico v Nigeria, couldn’t be more proud to score my 1st international goal,” Dessers wrote on his twitter page.

Under the new coach, Jose Peseiro, the Feyenoord star, who is already trying to make up for lost time with the national team, had a strong performance.
The forward arrived on Wednesday after flying from Albania to the Netherlands and then to the United States. Despite being jet lagged, he managed to train with the team on Friday and scored for the Eagles.
