Cyriel Dessers brace for Rangers against Ross County

Dessers had already garnered four goals this year going into their encounter against Ross County at the Ibrox Stadium and succeeded in adding two more on Wednesday night, Footballrover reports.

The forward’s two goals in the first period of the game gave his club an advantage over their visitors.

Despite missing out on Nigeria’s AFCON 2023 squad, Dessers has remained a potent weapon for the Gers, taking his season tally to 10 goals in 22 league appearances.

Early Blitz Secures Lead

However, Ross County responded through Simon Murray in the 29th minute.

Undeterred, Dessers restored the Rangers’ lead before halftime, displaying his predatory instincts once again.

Souttar Seals it Late

Rangers failed to capitalise on further chances but still secured all three points through John Souttar’s stoppage-time header, 20 minutes after Dessers’ was replaced.

The Nigerian forward’s tireless work ethic was able to shine through, as he registered a staggering 10 shots, two of which found the net.

Their victory sees them level on points with league leaders Celtic after 25 rounds, setting the stage for an exciting title race.

Next Up: St. Johnstone Beckons

The 29-year-old Nigerian and his teammates now turn their attention to a crucial away trip to St. Johnstone this Sunday.
