Alonso was already in the Barcelona to undergo a medical before signing a three-year contract that was agreed upon back in April, while Aubameyang left for London at 5 p.m. on Thursday for his medicals and contract signing as well.
Importantly, Barcelona’s payroll expenses were much reduced as a result of Aubameyang’s sale, which made room for Alonso to join the team. Additionally, it made it possible for Hector Bellerin to also join the Spanish giants.

After losing 2-1 to Southampton on Tuesday, the Blues have just seven points from five games this season. They are in desperate need of some sort of motivation from the new signing.
The Blues also confirmed signing Swiss international – Denis Zakaria, who joined the Premier League side on loan from Juventus for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.
The 25-year-old midfielder is powerful and vibrant, energetic in the challenge, and an excellent passer of the ball.
