Abia Warriors head coach, Bethel Oji, has praised his team’s ability to adapt and adjust to challenging conditions following their hard-fought win over Kwara United in the President Federation Cup.
The coach’s comments came after Abia Warriors’ 1-1 draw with Kwara United, which saw them emerge victorious 4-3 in penalties in Ikenne, Footballrover reports.
The President Federation Cup Round of 16 tie saw the Umuahia Boys put up a tough fight against the Harmony Boys, and it all paid off as they sealed passage to the next round.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the coach acknowledged that the hot weather and pitch conditions had affected his players but credited their flexibility and determination for securing the victory.
However, the coach heaped praise on his players for adapting to such harsh weather conditions in Ogun State.
“In football, you can’t play the same way every week, though the hot weather also affected the players when the sun was out,” the coach said.
The coach went on to thank God that his players were able to adapt early to get the job done.
The win marked a significant milestone for the team, as they progressed to the next round of the competition.
With this win, the Umuahia Warriors have proven they are now strong contenders to lift the President Federation Cup.
Abia Warriors will now prepare for the quarterfinal stage of the competition, where they will face off with Sokoto United, who surprisingly eliminated NPFL Champions Enyimba.
