Al Ahly have knocked Monterrey out of the FIFA Club World Cup to qualify for the Semi Finals.
Al Ahly defeated Monterrey, the North Americans Champions 1-0 to go through to the Semi Finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The African champions had to enter the game without many of its important players, as some are on international service for the Africa Cup of Nations, while others are absent due to injury.
Monterrey dominated the first half and had multiple chances to score, but Meza and Funes Mori were unable to convert.
Al Ahly piled on the pressure early in the second half, which were rewarded when Mohamed Hany scored a remarkable goal in the 51st minute.
Mohamed Magdy Afsha found Maaloul on the left flank with a clever ball, before the Tunisian fired in a low shot that the keeper parried away, but only as far as Mohamed Hany, who scored from outside the box with only one contact.
Despite having more possession, Monterrey was unable to produce any genuine chances, and the game ended 1-0 in favour of the Africans.
