Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe continued her sensational run of form on Saturday evening, scoring in her second consecutive game to help Benfica fight back from two goals down to secure a thrilling 2-2 draw against Valadares Gaia in the first leg of the Taca de Portugal semifinal.
The 24-year-old was once again the spark for the reigning Liga BPI champions, just a week after playing a key role in Benfica’s title-clinching campaign, Footballrover reports.
This time, she showed up when it mattered most, inspiring a dramatic comeback that keeps the tie wide open ahead of the return leg on April 27.

Fresh off winning their fifth straight Liga BPI title, Benfica were expected to dominate Valadares Gaia once more, having defeated them 3-0 in their previous outing—where Christy Ucheibe also got on the scoresheet.
But the visitors came for revenge, to spoil the party in this cup encounter.
Carolina Santiago gave Valadares Gaia a surprise lead in the 23rd minute, which they held onto going into the halftime break.
Things went from bad to worse for Benfica as Erica Parkinson added a second goal just two minutes into the second half, leaving the home fans stunned.
But it’s not game over for Benfica.
Benfica fights back with Ucheibe leading the charge
Trailing by two goals, Christy Ucheibe stepped up once again. In the 57th minute, she pulled one back for the Eagles with a well-taken strike, injecting belief back into the team.
Just 10 minutes later, Andreia Norton equalised for Benfica, completing the spirited Benfica comeback.
The game finished 2-2, leaving the semifinal still wide open heading into the second leg later this month.
After the match, Ucheibe—who’s now in top form—shared her reaction on social media:
