The Nigerian defender, who only recently swapped the Portuguese sun for Ohio heat, has already got his name in the team’s record book, Footballrover reports.

Last week, Awaziem made a solid debut, helping his new team to a clean sheet against Querétaro. This time around, he was the supersub who turned the game on its head.

Cincinnati were trailing 2-0 to New York City when Awaziem was introduced at halftime at the TQL Stadium.

It was as if the magic man had sprinkled his fairy dust over the team, helping the Orange and Blue storm back, scoring four unanswered goals for a thrilling 4-2 victory.

Yamil Asad was the star of the show with a brace, while Yuya Kubo and Sergio Santos also got their names on the scoresheet.

But let’s not forget Awaziem. His impact was undeniable.

This incredible comeback win has breathed new life into Cincinnati’s Leagues Cup campaign.

Next up for Awaziem and his new teammates is a clash against Santos Laguna on Saturday.
