Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem is already setting the stage for himself to become the golden boy of FC Cincinnati after grabbing an assist to inspire the team to victory over NYCFC.
The Nigerian defender, who only recently swapped the Portuguese sun for Ohio heat, has already got his name in the team’s record book, Footballrover reports.
Last week, Awaziem made a solid debut, helping his new team to a clean sheet against Querétaro. This time around, he was the supersub who turned the game on its head.
Cincinnati were trailing 2-0 to New York City when Awaziem was introduced at halftime at the TQL Stadium.

It was as if the magic man had sprinkled his fairy dust over the team, helping the Orange and Blue storm back, scoring four unanswered goals for a thrilling 4-2 victory.
Obinna Nwobodo, another Nigerian on the team, played his part too, providing an assist for one of the goals. It was a night to remember for the Nigerian duo.
Yamil Asad was the star of the show with a brace, while Yuya Kubo and Sergio Santos also got their names on the scoresheet.
