Chidera Ejuke was the undisputed king of the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Friday evening as Sevilla snatched a thrilling 1-0 victory over star-studded Al-Ittihad.
The Saudi Arabian giants were taken off guard by the Nigerian winger’s amazing displays of skills and speed, Footballrover reports.
The former CSKA Moscow man was a constant menace, weaving his magic down the flanks and destabilising the Al-Ittihad defence.
Even with the presence of Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema in their ranks, it was Ejuke who stole the limelight.
Although the former Real Madrid star had a golden opportunity to hand Al-Ittihad the lead from a spot kick, he missed the target.
While Lucas Ocampos’ penalty was the difference between the two sides, there’s no doubt that Ejuke was at the heart of Sevilla’s win.
His performance was strong, unlike the team’s other preseason games, in which they suffered losses to Sporting Lisbon and Orlando Pirates.

The event was made even more dramatic by the Trofeo Antonio Puerta’s tribute, an emotional remembrance to the late Sevilla player.
With the win under their belts, Sevilla will now turn their attention to their next pre-season clash against Consadole Sapporo.

And if Ejuke continues to produce performances like this, the Spanish side will surely bounce back to their best ahead of the upcoming La Liga campaign.
