Chidera Ejuke’s long-awaited return to Sevilla has brought some level of excitement to the team once again, but the Nigerian winger faces a challenge in regaining his previous form in La Liga.
After three months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, the 26-year-old made a brief comeback in Sevilla’s 2-1 victory over Girona, Footballrover reports.
However, coach García Pimienta believes that Ejuke has much work ahead to re-establish himself as an important player for the Andalusian side once more.

Ejuke’s recovery journey has been difficult as the Nigerian star had been sidelined since October 20, 2024, when he suffered the injury during a match against Barcelona.
His absence saw him miss 12 matches, including nine La Liga fixtures and three Copa del Rey games.
Despite this setback, Pimienta has reiterated the club’s commitment to helping Ejuke return to full fitness, pointing to his potential as an important asset to the team.

Pimienta emphasised that the 26-year-old’s return would not be instant, acknowledging the challenge of regaining match fitness.
He stressed that Chidera Ejuke’s gradual reintroduction is crucial, with the winger needing more time to get back to peak condition.
“We wanted to give him minutes to get into a rhythm because he has to be important. He has to do more things, but it’s normal. He has to get back to match fitness, and he will be a very important player for us,” the Sevilla boss said.
Before his injury, Ejuke had been a standout performer for Sevilla, scoring once in nine appearances.
Now, as the team prepares for the second half of the season, Sevilla fans will be hoping Chidera Ejuke can recapture his form and become an integral part of the squad’s success.
