Chelsea Women signs Eve Perisset from French Division One side Bordeaux

French international, Eve Perisset, has officially signed a three-year contract with Chelsea FC Women ahead of the 2022/23 season.Chelsea Women signs Eve Perisset from French Division One side Bordeaux

The 27-year-old, who joined the Blues from French Division One side Bordeaux on July 1, has signed a contract with the club until the summer of 2025 and will wear the number 15 jersey.

Chelsea FC Women confirmed the signing on their official twitter page on Wednesday, saying;

Chelsea FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of French international @EvePerisset ahead of the 2022/23 season! ✍️ Welcome, Ève! 🤩”

The powerful defender began her professional career in 2012 with Lyon, where she remained until the end of the 2015/16 season before joining Paris St Germain in 2016.

She won the league and the Coupe de France Feminine four times while at Lyon, and she won the latter for the fifth time at PSG.

Perisset joined Bordeaux in June 2020, where she made 45 games for the Girondins and over 125 D1 appearances in her career.

It’s a fantastic honour to join Chelsea and to be the first French female player to become a Blue! I am very thankful for the opportunity that has been given to me. The time was right for me to make this big move to London and join the English Super League and I cannot wait to meet the team and the fans later this summer at Kingsmeadow and at the famous Stamford Bridge!.” – Eve Perisset told the club website.

While Chelsea Women head coach – Emma Hayes added that:

Eve brings a wealth of experience and is a versatile player who is able to play in both full-back positions and midfield. A tenacious defender, with her mentality and professionalism we have no doubt she will complement the group well. We really look forward to welcoming Eve to the team later this summer as we head into the new season.

Later this summer, Perisset will report to the Blues for pre-season training.
