Chelsea target Arsen Zakharyan has expressed strong confidence that he will still join the Thomas Tuchel side at Stamford Bridge later on in 2022/23 campaign.
The youngster, who acknowledged that Chelsea was interested in signing him during the summer transfer window, expressed optimism that a deal would soon be reached and that he would be able to join the Blues’ squad in January.
After failing to find a means to complete the trade, Chelsea had no choice but to halt their chase of Dynamo Moscow winger – Arsen Zakharyan.
Thomas Tuchel is believed to have big plans for the 19-year-old, and his Β£12.6 million release clause would typically make a deal simple to finalize.
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital want to strengthen the #Chelsea midfield further in January, with the Blues also working on a deal to sign Dynamo Moscow's Arsen Zakharyan.

However, with restrictions on the Russian sides, which was actually imposed in response on them due to the invasion of Ukraine has significantly complicate the negotiation.
Footballrover believes that the Blues had run into a legal issues while trying to pay the transfer fee for Zakharyan due to the severe regulations Russian enterprises are subject to that restrict how they may receive money.
Zakharyan has only managed to produce 13 goals and 16 assists in 52 appearances for his club while playing all over the midfield. He has long been hailed as a potential future star and has been on Chelsea’s watchlist for some time.
“There was an offer from Chelsea, but it was impossible to complete a transfer. Of course, I accepted – how can I reject that? I hope everything will be done soon… maybe in January.” – Arsen Zakharyan told @sportsru.
Zakharyan, who was trained as a left winger, still spends the majority of his time in that position but also has extensive experience playing on the right as well as in central midfield, where he has spent the most of this season playing.
Chelsea still seems to be optimistic that they will be able to land their target – Zakharyan at Stamford Bridge later on because, as Footballrover gathered that they are still in discussion with Dynamo Moscow about the issue.
Meanwhile, Edson Alvarez of Ajax, who reluctantly refused to train with his team after Chelsea made a β¬50 million offer for his services on deadline day, is also still attracting a lot of interest from the Blues.
