Chelsea director, Marina Granovskaia set to leave the Premier League club

Roman Abramovich might likely not be the only high-ranking Chelsea executive to resign in the near future, one of the club’s long-serving director – Marina Granovskaia is also expected to leave the Premier League side once new ownership takes control.

On Wednesday evening, the Russian billionaire disclosed that he is aiming at selling the Premier League team, which he has owned since 2003, and that he’s willing to set aside the £1.5 billion he lent to the club.Chelsea director, Marina Granovskaia set to leave the Premier League club

Hansjorg Wyss, a Swiss billionaire, said earlier this week that he had been contacted by Abramovich to acquire the club, and that he had joined US businessman Todd Boehly in a group preparing a big offer.

When Abramovich sells Chelsea, club director Marina Granovskaia, who has been crucial to the team’s success, might go as well, perhaps having a greater effect than the owner’s exit.

For the previous two decades, Granovskaia has served as Abramovich’s de facto “chief of staff” across several of his business ventures, and she assumed a more significant role at Chelsea when she took the helm in 2013.

However, Marina Granovskaia might likely follow the path of his boss to step down as director of Chelsea as soon as the club is sold.

Marina is a Russian-Canadian businesswoman who is presently the director of Chelsea Football Club. She has also worked as Roman Abramovich’s chief assistant for over ten years.
