Despite being held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge by Leicester City, Chelsea have all but guaranteed themselves a third place in the Premier League.
Marcos Alonso cancelled out James Maddison’s earlier goal to make sure the spoils were evenly distributed at the end of the game.
After Castagne clamped down on Schmeichel’s long clearance, the ball broke kindly for Maddison, who put Leicester ahead after just six minutes into the contest.
The midfielder created space on the box’s edge before shooting past Mendy. But that was cancelled out by a magnificent Marcos Alonso volley in the 34th minute.
Following a sleek swap of passes, James delivers a delightful diagonal ball into the area, where Alonso brilliantly scores on the volley.
Chelsea dominated for long periods of the game, with Thomas Tuchel demanding more from his players, but Leicester defended admirably overall.
Brendan Rodgers’ team managed to steal a 1-1 draw at the final whistle.
Honours even.

Only a 19-goal hit in Tottenham’s favor would be enough to knock the Blues out on the final day of the season.
Chelsea and Leicester City will both play their final Premier League of the season at home on Sunday.
The Blues will play host to Watford at Stamford Bridge, while Leicester City will battle Southampton at the King Power Stadium.
