Cameroon return to Younde with 4 points after victory over Brazil in FIFA World Cup

Cameroon defeated Brazil on Friday night to secure a historic victory that ultimately proved futile during their FIFA World Cup game at Lusail Iconic Stadium, Lusail, Qatar.

In the second Group G, Round 3 match that was mostly controlled by Brazil, Cameroon snatched a victory thanks to a late header from Vincent Aboubakar.

Cameroonian daredevil attacker – Vincent Aboubakar, waited till the extra time of the second half of the match to shock former World Cup Champions, Brazil, with 1-0 win.

The win was, however, not enough to seal a knockout qualification ticket for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon as Brazil went through with 6 points after earlier group victories against Switzerland, and Serbia.

Cameroon will now return to Younde with 4 points after the victory against Brazil and a draw against Switzerland.

Meanwhile, at the other end, Cameroonian-born Switzerland attacker, Breel Embolo, scored his second goal for Switzerland at Qatar 2022 World Cup Group G, Round 3, match against Serbia.

Embolo scored the equalizer for Switzerland with an assist from Silver Widmer in 44th minute of first half of the game played at Stadium 974, Ras Abu Aboud, Qatar.

Switzerland’s Captain, Xherdan Shaqiri, scored early in 20th minute of first half after receiving a pass from Djibri Sow.

Aleksandar Mitrovic made it 1-1 for Serbia in 26th minute of first half of the match and Dusan Vlahovic made it 2-1 for Serbia in 35th minute of the half before Breel Embolo’s equalizer for the Swiss in 44th minute of the first half.

Remo Freuler increased the tally to 3-2 for Switzerland with an assist from Ruben Vargas to the guarantee the maximum 6 points and 2022 FIFA World Cup knockout qualification ticket for Switzerland.
