Juliet Sunday’s 71st minute goal has handed Bayelsa Queens FC a historic Bronze Medal win against fellow debutants, Simba FC of Tanzania, in the third place match of the on-going CAF Women’s Champions League Football Championship.
The goal by Juliet Sunday was incidentally the highest point of the third place match after a goal-less first half by both teams.

The two teams had lost their Semi-final matches against finalist Mamelodi Sundowns, South Africa, and ASFAR FC, Morocco, after emerging runners up in their respective groups.
With the third place match settled in favour of Bayelsa Queens, the stage is now set for an epic final match of on Sunday, November 13,2022, between host, ASFAR FC, Morocco, and defending champions of CAF Women’s Champions League Competition.

With the victory, Bayelsa Queens became Nigeria’s first-ever CAF Women’s Champions League medalists.
Bayelsa Queens are in safe hands as Bawou Gabrielle bagged the Woman of the Match award for her stunning performance vs. Simba Queens SC in the CAFWCL bronze medal match.
