Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna has made a strategic move in the winter transfer window by securing the services of Super Falcons forward Blessin Nkor.
The 21-year-old Nigerian star has signed on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, marking a new chapter in her career as she joins fellow Nigerian internationals in Spain’s top women’s football league, LigaF, footballrover reports.
Blessin Nkor’s impressive journey to Deportivo La Coruna
Before her move to the Spanish side, Blessin Nkor made her mark with Turkish club Gaziantep Asya Spor, where she netted 12 goals.
The versatile forward, capable of playing both as a winger and a central attacker, has also built a solid foundation in Africa, starting her professional career with Tanzania’s Yanga Princesses.
Her previous stints with Sunshine Queens in NWFL further enhanced her experience, making her a valuable addition to Deportivo La Coruna’s roster.
Nkor’s ambitious Liga F goals with Deportivo La Coruna
With her move to the Spanish Liga F, Blessin Nkor now joins a competitive squad that includes super stars like Gift Monday, Rinsola Babajide, Rasheedat Ajibade and Super Falcons hopeful Edna Imade.
Together, they will aim for success in one of Europe’s most challenging football leagues.
“A new chapter has begun. A new story is being written. A new home and family I have found. This can only be God. Grateful beyond words,” she said.
Nkor’s international debut came last November in a 2-1 friendly defeat to France, and now, with her move to Liga F, she’s set to show the world much of her ability on an even bigger stage.
With her new side battling with relegation and currently placed 14th in the 16-team table with just 12 points after 15 rounds of matches, her services upfront will be highly needed to turn around their fortune.
