Benzema still on fire, bag brace in Real Madrid victory over Mallorca

Real Madrid stretched their LaLiga lead to ten points after defeating Mallorca 3-0 at the Visit Mallorca Estadi on Monday night.

The victory was accomplished thanks to a brace from Karim Benzema and a goal from Vinicius Junior in the second half.Benzema still on fire, bag brace in Real Madrid 3-0 victory over Mallorca

Despite the fact that the game was in the balance at halftime, the first half ended goalless.

The visitors had good opportunities in the game and could have been ahead after Vedat Muriqi and Pablo Maffeo both misfired.

Madrid’s greatest chance fell to Karim Benzema, who was denied by Sergio Rico’s excellent stop.

Madrid entered the game with a lot of energy and several nice moves in and around the box, but the Los Blancos became agitated after failing to score early.

The visitors came out firing in the second half, with Benzema working a simple pass to Vinicius, who slotted his effort between Rico’s legs and into the net to break the deadlock for the Spanish giants.

After converting a penalty kick in the 77th minute, Benzema doubled his tally with a magnificent header five minutes later to seal the win and all three points.

However, the triumph seemed to come at a cost, as Benzema staggered out after scoring his second goal, and Rodrygo was also carried off during the match.
