The 22-year playing career of Franck Ribery is now officially over, but then, he will surely be remembered and known for the piece of silverware he managed to gather during his stint at Bayern Munich.
Franck Ribery, the former winger for Bayern Munich and France, has finally declared his retirement from the game of football.
Despite having a contract that would have kept him at the Serie A club through the conclusion of this campaign, Ribery has decided its time to hang his boots and enjoy life.

The 39-year-old also featured for Metz, Galatasaray, Marseille, and Fiorentina throughout the course of a 22-year career.

An incredible career comes to an end
However, Ribery spent the majority of his career with Bayern, where in 12 years he won nine Bundesliga championships.
In addition, he captured six DFB-Pokal championships, one Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, and a FIFA Club World Cup.
Ribery played in 273 Bundesliga matches while playing for the Bavarian powerhouses, scoring 86 goals and dishing out 92 assists.
He wrote on Twitter;
“The ball stops. The feelings inside me do not.Β Thanks to everyone for this great adventure.”
Ribery and Arjen Robben had an outstanding wing connection in Munich, terrorizing defenses from either flank, before the two super players left the German side in 2019.
Prior to his retirement from international football in 2014, Ribery amassed 81 caps for France, scoring 16 times. He was also a member of the Les Bleus team that placed second to Italy in the 2006 World Cup.
After leaving Germany, he proceeded to Fiorentina, where he made 51 starts and contributed to five goals and nine assists until joining Salernitana in 2021.

He played in just two games this season, both in August, the Coppa Italia match against Parma, and the 1-0 Serie A loss at home to Roma, totaling just three assists in 25 appearances for the club.
According to Salernitana, Ribery will continue to work there in a non-playing role.
