The club’s chairman, Ebiki Timitimi, expressed his gratitude to the supporters and outlined the club’s future goals in a recent statement, Footballrover reports.
“We express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support throughout the season. Your dedication, passion, and energy sustained us in the NPFL,” Timitimi stated.
He also extended appreciation to the Bayelsa State government, led by His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, and other key figures, including Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Commissioner for Sports Development Hon. Daniel Igali, and Sir Dr. Peter Singabele.
He noted that their support was crucial for the team’s survival.
Reflecting on the season, Timitimi highlighted the significant support from fans, especially during the final match against Bendel Insurance in Benin City, Edo State.
“We are happy to see Bayelsans who travelled all the way to Benin to support the team. This support means a lot to us,” he said.
Despite facing numerous challenges, the club managed to avoid relegation, thanks to the massive support they got from their fans and the “God factor” that safeguarded them throughout the season.
Timitimi added that their prayers, loyalty, enthusiasm, and sacrifices were vital in sustaining their NPFL status.
Looking ahead, Bayelsa United is optimistic about a successful 2024–2025 season while revealing their ambitious target.
“Our target next season is to have a productive NPFL campaign. With your support, we are hopeful for a smooth season,” Timitimi declared.
