It’s no longer news that Bayelsa United Football Club has officially unveiled Ladan Bosso as the new head coach of the South South side at the Glory of All Lands.

The former Flying Eagles coach, who has handled several NPFL clubs, including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, Abia Warriors, and El-Kanemi Warriors, was unveiled on Tuesday ahead of the new season, Footballrover reports.

The state administration described the decision to recruit the experienced coach as a deliberate move to revive the team and build on his rich past.

Even the state commissioner for sports development, Hon. Daniel Igali, acknowledged that Ladan Bosso’s excellent track record and ability to nurture new talent made him an invaluable asset to the club.

And the new head coach was immediately handed huge expectations from the state government.

The expectation was clear: to push Bayelsa United a lot further in the league to achieve continental football, and there is massive confidence in him to deliver by his employers.

But guess what?? Under the leadership of Ladan Bosso, the Prosperity Boys will begin the new season with a tough away fixture against Sunshine Stars.

Both sides struggled with relegation battles last season and will be looking to correct all that early into their new campaign.

While the Akure Gunners managed to finish in 11th place with 52 points, just six points away from the drop zone, Bayelsa United dodged the drop zone with a four-point difference, finishing 15th.

The new season is upon us: a new coach, new players, new ideas, new hope, and, of course, all is set for actions to resume on September 7th and 8th, according to the league body.

However, an away game at Akure Township Stadium, where Bayelsa United salvaged a 1-1 draw in their last outing, will surely be a difficult away test for Ladan Bosso, who relatively enjoyed his unveiling.

Ladan Bosso, who has expressed confidence that his team will now compete at all fronts in the new NPFL season and President Federation Cup.
