Bayelsa Queens mean business this season — and Coach Whyte Ogbonda has made that crystal clear with the arrival of Lucky Mary and Janet Akekoromowei.

As the Prosperity Girls get fully prepared for the CAF Women’s Champions League and NWFL Premiership, fans have every reason to believe more big names will join soon, Footballrover reports.

Lucky Mary & Akekoromowei bring new firepower

Bayelsa Queens confirmed the signing of Mary, an exciting forward from Abia Angels, right after they secured Akekoromowei from Nasarawa Amazons.

For Coach Ogbonda, these two attackers are exactly what the team needs to dominate Nigeria and Africa.

Mary, who will wear the famous No. 13 shirt, brings pace, flair, and a hunger for goals that perfectly fits Bayelsa outfit’s ambitions.

After signing, she said, “I’m grateful for this opportunity and ready to give my best for Bayelsa Queens.”

Whyte Ogbonda couldn’t hide his excitement either. “I’m very pleased with the quality of players we’ve brought in so far. Janet Akekoromowei and Lucky Mary are both proven attackers with the hunger and talent to help us compete at the highest level. Their arrival will add depth, creativity, and more goal-scoring options to the team.”

But Ogbonda isn’t stopping here. He knows his team must be strong in every position to conquer both the NWFL Premiership and the CAF Women’s Champions League.

“However, we are not done yet. We are still working to strengthen a few key areas to ensure we have a balanced, competitive squad ready to represent Bayelsa Queens with pride both at home and on the continent,” he said.
