Atlas Lions of Morocco displayed a highly competitive, very organized, and solid performance to pull off a draw thereby earning itself a valuable, and critical group point against a highly rated European National Side, Croatia.
It was the Round One, Group F match played at Al Bayi Stadium, Al Khor, Qatar.
The Atlas Lions, ranked 22 by the World Football Body, FIFA, and marshalled by Fiorentina defensive midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat, did not show much respect to the Luka Modric led 12th Ranked FIFA Team, and 2018 World Cup Runners Up.
It was a battle that was fought mostly in the midfield by the two teams, but the Atlas Lions seemed to be the most adventurous which made the Moroccan Team to lose Noussair Mazraoui in 60th minute of the second half.

Mazraoui was quickly replaced by Yahia Attiyat Allah. Hakim Ziyech’s effort through a free kick in 39 minute of the first half was scrambled out of the danger area by very alert Croatian defenders.
Two similar free kicks by Luka Modric in the second half of the match did not yield any dividend for the Croatian Side.
Croatia will play Canada, Sunday, November, 27, 2022, at 17:00 Nigerian Time, while Morocco will face Belgium, at 14:00 Nigerian Time.
