Argentina defeated Estonia 5-0 in an entertaining international friendly at El Sadar on Sunday, with Lionel Messi leading the way with a five star performance.
Argentina entered the game with a trophy in hand, having defeated Italy 3-0 in the UEFA-CONMEBOL Finalissima on Wednesday.
Estonia, on the other hand, is coming off a 2-0 win over San Marino in their first Nations League match of the season. That win snapped a five-game losing streak in all competitions (D1 L4).
The game had barely commenced when the Argentine captain scored the first of his five goals from the penalty spot in the eighth minute after Igonen had taken out Pezzella.

On the stroke of half-time, the 34-year-old PSG star man increased Argentina’s lead, blasting his shot over the keeper from a narrow angle.
He completed his hat-trick with a close-range goal barely two minutes into the second half.
His fourth goal was a superb piece of individual play and after a number of his teammates’ shots were stopped, Messi sealed it off in the 76th minute with a great piece of solo play.
Lionel Messi has become the FIRST player in history to reach 1100 career goals and assists. In 974 matches, he has 769 goals and 331 assists.
Argentina’s unbeaten streak continues, with the team yet to lose any game after 33 matches played so far.
They haven’t lost a game in any competition in nearly three years, and they’re hoping to keep that streak going as they ramp up their preparations for the World Cup in November and December.
Estonia’s focus now shifts back to their Nations League campaign, which begins with a match against Malta.
