Enyimba FC, the reigning NPFL champions, has added a new talisman – Anthony Achu Okachi to their squad ahead of the 2023/24 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The 22-year-old bullish striker, has been officially unveiled after signing a lucrative two-year deal with the Aba-based club, continuing his promising footballing journey with Enyimba until 2025.
This move comes after Okachi’s release clause of N3,000,000 was met, making him a key addition to the formidable squad.
Having agreed to a $600 monthly salary deal, Anthony Okachi made the leap from Shooting Stars to join Enyimba FC, looking forward to the exciting challenge that awaits him.
The youngster’s potential was noticed during his time with Abia Comets FC, where he began his footballing career, before gaining experience at Norwegian second-tier side FK Jerv on loan.
Born on September 6, 2000, Okachi honed his skills during three years with the Umuahia-based club in the Nigeria National League, showcasing his prowess as a forward.
His stint with Shooting Stars may have been brief, featuring in nine NPFL games and scoring just a goal, but it was enough to capture the attention of the NPFL giants, Enyimba FC.
After successfully completing his medical at the club’s base in Aba, the young striker couldn’t contain his excitement and took to his social media platform to express his enthusiasm.
On his Twitter page, Okachi wrote;
“Super excited to have agreed to join the people’s elephant of Aba, Enyimba International Football Club, 9 times league champions. Let’s get to work.”
