Amarachi Bede Osuji has finally opened his account for the season in spectacular fashion, scoring two goals and providing an assist in Manisa’s dominant 5-1 home victory over Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish First League.
In the Trendyol 1. Lig, it took the Nigerian six games to find his rhythm, and when he did, it was worth the wait, Footballrover reports.
His stellar performance inspired his team to their second consecutive win.
Amarachi scored the third and fourth goals, finding the back of the net in both halves as Manisa crushed Malatyaspor at the Mumin Ozkasap Stadyumu on Friday.
The match kicked off with Efe Altunkara netting the opener just 11 minutes in, but Mehmet Tastan equalised for the visitors six minutes later.
However, Ivorian forward Moryke Fofana restored Manisa’s lead in the 26th minute, and three minutes later, Osuji thought he had scored, only for his effort to be ruled offside.
Opening His Account with a Brace
Undeterred, the Nigerian forward kept pushing and was rewarded five minutes before halftime.
Fofana set him up perfectly to score and make it 3-1, finally marking his first goal of the season.
Amarachi wasn’t done yet. Just 13 minutes into the second half, he doubled his tally, this time being set up by Dani Ramirez.
Delivering an Assist
Then, in the 58th minute, Osuji turned provider, delivering a fine assist to Fofana, allowing the Ivorian to claim his own brace and secure the 5-1 rout.
Following his outstanding display, Amarachi was substituted in the 67th minute, with Kwasi Wriedt taking his place.
Key Role in a Big Home Win
The victory extended Manisa’s unbeaten run to five games, consisting of three wins and two draws.
After an opening-day 3-2 loss to Istanbulspor AS, they managed a 2-2 draw with Sakaryaspor, a 2-0 win over Karagumruk, and a goalless draw with Adanaspor AS before edging past Kocaelispor 2-1 in their fifth match.
Now sitting second on the Turkish 1. Lig table with 11 points, Manisa will look ahead to their next challenge—an away trip to face Boluspor at the Bolu Atatürk Stadyumu on Saturday.
