The 24-year-old midfielder controlled the game, completing the most passes (70) and winning the most duels (8).

In his 92 touches, he made five final-third passes, two interceptions, and 11 recoveries.

With one goal and an assist already this season, Alhassan Yusuf earned a solid 7.4 match rating — but his effort still wasn’t enough to stop the visitors.

Lionel Messi Brace Seals Fourth Straight Win for Inter Miami

While Yusuf impressed, it was Lionel Messi who decided the outcome of the encounter.

The Argentine superstar punished a defensive mistake in the 27th minute, pouncing on Tanner Beason’s loose header to open the scoring for Inter Miami.

Eleven minutes later, Messi linked up with Sergio Busquets, gliding past Aljaz Ivacic to double the lead.

New England Revolution fought back strongly after the break. Substitutes Luis Diaz and Tomas Chancalay almost pulled one back, but it was Carles Gil’s stunning long-range strike 10 minutes from time that gave the hosts hope.

In the end, Lionel Messi’s first-half brace made the difference, handing Inter Miami their fourth straight MLS victory and lifting them above Orlando City to fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Unsurprisingly, Messi walked away with yet another Royal Caribbean Icon Of The Match award.

New England Revolution, with just one win in their last 11 games, will now try to bounce back when they face Austin away this weekend.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami will look to extend their winning streak at home against Nashville.
