Alex Iwobi bagged his seventh Premier League assist of the season in the one-sided encounter, the most he’s ever managed in a single campaign, as they thrashed Brighton away from home.

It was an exciting encounter for the away fans as Everton crushed Brighton and Hove Albion 5-1 in the English Premier League’s week 35 match played at American Express Community Stadium, Falmer.

Everton scored three goals within the first half of their best 45 minutes of the 2022–2023 English Premier League season.

Nigerian international midfielder Alex Iwobi displayed a brilliant performance in the game as he initiated Abdoulaye Doucoure’s first-minute away goal and assisted Dwight McNeil to score the fourth goal for Everton in the 76th minute of the second half of the match.

He equaled Peter Odemwingie’s record (2010/11) of most assists by a Nigerian in a single Premier League season.

Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a brace when he floated a right shot from outside Brighton and Hove Albion’s eighteen-yard box into a yawning net in the 29th minute of the first half for Everton’s second goal of the match.

Jason Steele made it 3-0 for Everton in the 35th minute of the first half before Dwight McNeil made it 4-0 from Alex Iwobi’s telegraphic pass.

Alex MacAllister then reduced the tally to 1-4 for Brighton and Hove Albion in the 79th minute of the second half.

Dwight McNeil scored the second brace for Everton’s fifth goal of the match in the sixth minute of second-half extra time.

The 5-1 away win places Everton in 16th place in the league table with 32 points after 35 matches.

It also places the team one level above the relegation zone and a level ahead of Leicester City, now in 17th position on the log. Brighton and Hove Albion are 7th with 55 points after 33 matches.
