Super Eagles midfielder – Alex Iwobi grabbed his 7th assist of the season to help Everton pick up narrow victory over Leeds United during their Premier League game at the Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Nigerian international played a key role and later provided the assist that help Everton pull out of the bottom three after Coleman’s goal secured a 1-0 victory over Leeds.

There weren’t many chances in the first half, although the hosts did have two attempts by Coady and Maupay quickly cleared off the line.

In the second half, Alex Iwobi and his Everton teammates made an extra effort to score a fantastic goal that proved to the winner.

Thanks to Iwobi, who was able to slip a pass through from his own half, Coleman was able to catch Meslier off guard from the tightest of angles on the right side of the box and curl it into the far side of the net.

Leeds failed to get a single shot on goal during the encounter.

Everton climbs two spots into 16th position and escapes the relegation zone, but they are still only one point behind West Ham.

After two victories at home, they’ve gathered some momentum that will help them host Aston Villa the following weekend.

Leeds have lost their last 10 Premier League games, dropping them to 19th place. On Saturday, they will play host to Southampton, who are at the bottom of the standings.
