The forward, who returned to his boyhood club after a stint at Gombe United, provided an impressive assist in Kwara United’s 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in their Matchday 20 clash, Footballrover reports.

The 24-year-old joined Kwara United during the mid-season transfer window and wasted no time in making his impact felt.

Alalade Wasiu linked up with his longtime friend Shola Abdulraheem at Kwara United after leaving Gombe United.

In his first match back, Wasiu’s assist to Abubakar Garba ensured a crucial equaliser for the Harmony Boys.

His assist helped the Ilorin Boys salvage a point from a potentially losing situation at the Ondo Sports Complex.

Promise Awosanmi handed the Owena Waves the lead in the first half, before Abubakar Garba pulled his side back into the game in the second period of the game.

God 1st. A debut with an assist and an away point. Alhamdullilah! Not a bad way to start the second stanza. We Are United Kwara United FC,” he wrote on his X page (formerly Twitter).

Wasiu’s return to Kwara United marks his third stint at the club, having previously played for them in 2018 and 2022.

He is known for his journeyman career, having also played for ABS FC, Enyimba, Akwa United, Shooting Stars, and Lobi Stars.

Following the tight draw, Alalade Wasiu and his Kwara United side have only gained 24 points from 20 games, leaving them in 14th place, just a point ahead of their host.

They will now be looking to build on this positive result in their upcoming home game against Katsina United.
