Naby Keita and IIaix Moriba inspired Syli National of Guinea to a convincing 3-1 victory over Ethiopia in their Group D’s round 4 match of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers played at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco.
The away win guaranteed the Guineans a double victory against Ethiopia in the qualifier for the continental championship.
The Syli National had won Ethiopia 2-0 three days ago in the round 3 match played at Mohamed V. Stade, Casablanca, Morocco.
Naby Keita and IIaix Moriba, respectively, scored a goal and an assist in the round 4 match against Ethiopia. Naby Keita scored the first goal for Guinea in the 4th minute.
He also assisted Ilaix Moriba in scoring the second goal for his team in the 42nd minute of the first half of the match.
IIaix assisted Morgan Guilavogui to score the third goal for Guinea in the 70th minute of the second half of the match.
Canaan Markovic had reduced the tally to 1-1 for Ethiopia in the 34th minute of the first half.
Kitika Jemma pulled another goal back for Ethiopia in the fifth minute of second half extra time to end the match 2-3 in favor of Syli National of Guinea.
With the victory, Syli National tops Group D with 9 points after four rounds of matches.
Egypt are second on the log with 6 points after 3 matches, while Ethiopia is third with 3 points after 4 matches.
Malawi is last with three points after three matches.
