Ademola Lookman, fresh off an incredible year marked by individual and team successes, has declared Atalanta’s readiness to battle Lazio this weekend.
The Super Eagles star, who described his team as “never satisfied,” believes the clash at Stadio Olimpico will be a crucial moment in the Serie A title race, Footballrover reports.
Lookman, who scored in Atalanta’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Empoli on Sunday, emphasised his team’s focus and determination to end 2024 as league leaders.
Lazio, who will be featuring his Super Eagles teammate Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, are expected to pose a tough challenge, but Lookman remains confident.

Speaking to DAZN, Lookman praised Atalanta’s unity and relentless mentality.
“Our strength is the group. We are united, we work hard, and we always want to improve. Every game is a battle, and we try to face it with the right mentality. We are never satisfied.”
Lookman acknowledged Lazio’s strength but insisted that Atalanta is prepared to secure another victory.
A year to remember for Lookman
The 2024 season has been an incredible one for Lookman. The former Leicester City winger started the year with a runners-up medal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He propelled Atalanta to a Europa League triumph with a hat trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
The Nigerian then went on to finish in 14th place in the Ballon d’Or.
Crowning his achievements, Ademola became only the sixth Nigerian to win the Africa Player of the Year award in December.
With nine goals and four assists in 14 league appearances this season, he has been key to Atalanta’s success.
