Lookman last scored on October 28 in a 1-1 draw with AC Milan, making this a timely return to form. He played 82 minutes before being replaced by Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Atalanta Overwhelm Frankfurt with Rapid Fire Goals

The match was cagey in the first half, with Farès Chaïbi forcing an early save from Marco Carnesecchi and Robin Koch missing a header.

But Atalanta exploded after the break, stunning Deutsche Bank Park with three goals in just five minutes.

Lookman opened the scoring with a perfectly timed volley from Charles De Ketelaere’s dinked delivery.

He then turned provider with a defence-splitting pass that allowed Éderson to slot the ball past goalkeeper Zetterer.

The flurry continued as De Ketelaere converted a rebound off Gianluca Scamacca’s effort, completing a rapid-fire sequence that left the home side reeling.

Zetterer prevented further damage with a fine save from Berat Djimsiti, but Atalanta’s work was already done.

Implications for Atalanta and Frankfurt

Despite the emphatic win, Raffaele Palladino’s side remain outside the top eight for automatic Champions League Round of 16 qualification and must maintain this clinical edge when they host Chelsea on matchday six.

Frankfurt’s hopes of replicating their historic 1959/60 European Cup run are fading, having now lost two successive home games by three goals or more.
