Ademola Lookman has undoubtedly been one of Atalanta’s standout performers this season, but a recent report reveals the Serie A club’s determination to keep hold of their star forward.
Atalanta has reportedly set a massive asking price for Lookman, who has dazzled fans with his remarkable performances, Footballrover reports.
But is any club willing to meet this steep valuation?
The Nigerian international, who joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022 for just €9.3m, has already made a significant impact this season.
With eight goals and five assists in just 14 appearances across all competitions, Lookman has proven to be a vital asset for the Bergamo-based club.
Atalanta’s high asking price for Lookman: will clubs bite?
His rise has attracted interest, with Ligue 1 giants PSG even making an approach over the summer. However, Atalanta successfully convinced the 27-year-old to stay.
While Lookman’s contract runs until 2026, Atalanta holds an option to extend his deal further.
As a result, the club is in no rush to sell the forward and has no intention of parting ways with him in the upcoming January transfer window.
Yet, if suitors come calling in the summer, Atalanta is open to negotiations—if the asking price is met.
Lookman’s stock has never been higher. His stunning hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last season cemented his reputation on the continental stage.
Although he was recently in action with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, contributing to their 1-1 draw with Benin Republic, his future at Atalanta seems anything but certain unless a club is ready to pay the asking price.
