Ademola Lookman has rediscovered his scoring touch in emphatic fashion, ending a six-league-game drought to lead Atalanta to a crushing 4-0 away win over Monza in Serie A on Sunday.
The Super Eagles forward struck Atalanta’s third goal with trademark composure, latching onto a knockdown before drilling the ball into the near post—his 19th goal of the season across all competitions, Footballrover reports.
It was his first since March 9, when he last scored in another 4-0 triumph, this time over Juventus.

Lookman, who completed a game-high three dribbles, had gone 42 days without a goal—a barren run stretching over eight matches, including two for Nigeria.
But at the Stadio Brianteo, he looked sharp and decisive, contributing to Atalanta’s sixth straight league win over Monza.
Earlier, Charles De Ketelaere opened the floodgates with a quick brace, punishing sloppy defending to hand Atalanta control.
Despite some early sparks from Monza, including efforts from Gianluca Caprari and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made two key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
19th goal of the season highlights Lookman’s resurgence
Ademola Lookman’s strike took his season tally to 19 goals and six assists—14 goals and five assists in Serie A, and five goals with one assist in the UEFA Champions League.
He was replaced by Marco Brescianini after 80 minutes, who went on to score Atalanta’s fourth.
With this result, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side inches closer to a historic Serie A points record and strengthens its Champions League push.
Meanwhile, Monza’s relegation is confirmed after three seasons in the top flight.
