2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualification, Round 4 – Full-Time Scores

There were several surprising results in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers Round 4 matches played on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, across various venues in Africa.

In Group F, Sudan shocked Ghana, one of the continent’s football powerhouses, with a 2-0 home victory, Footballrover reports.

This loss has significantly endangered Ghana’s chances of qualifying for next year’s tournament.

In Group G, Sierra Leone delivered another upset, defeating Côte d’Ivoire 1-0 at home. Meanwhile, in Group H, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) beat Tanzania 2-0 away. Over in Group K, South Sudan lost 1-2 at home to Uganda.

Here are the key results across the groups:

Group A, Round 4:

Comoros vs Tunisia: Tunisia leads Group A with 7 points, followed by Comoros with 6 points. Gambia has 5 points, while Madagascar trails with 2 points.

Group B, Round 4:

Lesotho 0-2 Gabon
Central African Republic 0-4 Morocco: Morocco tops Group B with 12 points, Gabon follows with 7 points. Central African Republic (CAR) has 3 points, while Lesotho holds 1 point.

Group C, Round 4:

Botswana 1-0 Cape Verde
Mauritania 0-1 Egypt: Egypt leads Group C with 12 points, while Botswana is second with 6 points. Cape Verde and Mauritania both have 3 points.

Group D, Round 4:

Rwanda 2-1 Benin: Nigeria tops Group D with 7 points from three games, Benin is second with 6 points after four games. Rwanda has 4 points from four games, and Libya has 1 points.

Group F, Round 4:

Sudan 2-0 Ghana
Niger 0-1 Angola: Angola leads Group F with 12 points, followed by Sudan with 7 points. Ghana holds 2 points, while Niger has 1 point.

Group G, Round 4:

Chad 0-1 Zambia
Sierra Leone 1-0 Côte d’Ivoire: Côte d’Ivoire leads Group G with 7 points, while Zambia is second with 7 points. Sierra Leone has 4 points, and Chad trails with 2 points.

Group H, Round 4:

Tanzania 0-2 DR Congo
Ethiopia 0-3 Guinea: DR Congo tops Group H with 12 points, followed by Guinea with 6 points. Tanzania has 4 points, and Ethiopia is at the bottom with 1 point.

Group I, Round 4:

Guinea-Bissau 0-0 Mali: Mozambique and Mali share the lead in Group I with 8 points each. Guinea-Bissau has 4 points, and Eswatini has 1 point.

Group K, Round 4:

South Sudan 1-2 Uganda
Congo Republic 1-1 South Africa: Uganda leads Group K with 10 points, followed by South Africa with 8 points. Congo Republic has 4 points, while South Sudan remains without a point.

Group L, Round 4:

Malawi 0-1 Senegal: Burkina Faso leads Group L with 10 points and a +7 goal difference, while Senegal follows closely with 10 points and a +6 goal difference. Burundi has 3 points, and Malawi is last with 0 points.

Here are the teams that have qualified so far:

  • Burkina Faso has secured their place in AFCON 2025, marking their 13th appearance.
  • Cameroon will make a record 21st appearance at AFCON 2025.
  • Algeria has qualified for their 21st AFCON tournament.
  • DR Congo is heading to AFCON 2025.
  • Senegal has also officially qualified for AFCON 2025.
  • Angola has also earned a spot in the AFCON 2025 lineup, all joining Algeria.
